April Fool

Some bad habits have crept in again. I clicked submit just before the end of April to avoid missing a month but it incomplete. No pictures or riveting narrative. Just some total bosh. Apologies - the end of April rather snuck up on me and before I knew it I was out of time. I'd like to say it won't ever happen again but that would be untrue. But I'll try to do better and not start down the slippery slope of missed deadlines.

With that out the way - what of Esther. Well, firstly she has abolished Estherhazy apparently - she no longer answers to that name and so it will fall into dereliction. It's a shame, I often think of her as an archetypal Hungarian spook but she's has made her decision so I have to respect her choice. Beyond that, in my increasing years, I struggle to track Esther's progress in the last month. She's saying "Christ" a lot which is unsurprising given that April has always been a big month for Jesus, but it has become her exclamation of choice which can be a bit much, but is moderately better than "bugger". And having started to watch Taskmaster, I think she is probably storing up a rich tapestry of creative explextives to be deployed at some unknown point in the future. Which will be both delightful but also not delightful at all.

She is also back swimming (as the photo below shows) and despite being thrown in at the deep end in a harder group, she seems to be nailing it. She uses a woggle to stay afloat which she is happy about as "it saves her from drowning" (her words) and is showing the customary Esther resilience that is evident outside the house but can swiftly dissolve into puddles of tears at home over the most trifling matters.

As you can see, I've kept up my end and managed to take some more pictures of Esther but the textual content is weak. Arse. In May, I'll endeavour to take nice photographs to share and also keep track of her life too. She's consistently good value so it shouldn't be hard but with the advancing age it all becomes a bit of a muddle. She is however deeply photogenic.

Bring on May. And enjoy Esther. But never again Estherhazy.
