Oh my Dosh

Esther is a joyous, carefree thing who, as a matter of principle, refuses to look where she is going nor really consider her own safety in any given situation. Particularly when on a scooter. Or on her feet. Or bum. It has driven her to surpass Nancy's physical capacity by ascending to the top of the local playground's climbing frame and even more happily she didn't throw herself off the top. Which is grand.

But alongside this reckless streak is the capacity for complete joyousness. Over the last month in Bornholm into has seaped a burgeoning vocabulary that is broad and expertly used to express surprise for example "Oh my Dosh!" or try to explain how she is related to her new brother or sister which displays a distinct lack of understanding of genetics - "I'm going to be a rudder soon" - or the exclamatory "Put my bum away!"

Along with her confusion about how her gender may or may not change when she becomes a brother or sister she is very keen to enforce her mother's gluten intolerance and is quick to announce that the baby can't eat pies or beer. Which is helpful. And she is probably byngbong's biggest advocate - within moments of meeting anyone she is declaring that her mother has a baby in her tummy.
