Insubordination

Esther is many things.  Charming and kind. Hugely frustrating but well meaning. Uproariously funny and needler in chief. She is maddeningly lovely. In fact I'm pretty sure She is destined to be a charismatic post apocalyptic dictator, albeit one who is wholly incapable of using the right name.

And Her father's general decrepitude with names can't be helping but with most people she guesses wrongly (even apparently guessing the gender wrong unless she is expressing some fiendish precognitive comment on people's gender identification) and despite being sharp as a tack she shows no real sign of mastering naming conventions. It's not a big thing but it can  be slightly frustrating watching her get the name of the uncle who had Just been playing with her for a while day wrong. And massively wrong - she's not even trying!

Her increasing physical dexterity continues to astound us (despite her devil may care approach to most things - make her something and she had serious skills and focus) and it's not been a wildly popular development with her older sister. Particular when Esther offers advice to Nancy while effortlessly dangling from some vastly high point on a climbing frame. And I'm not sure this is ever going to change. Poor Nancy.

Here is Esther!
